Since the beginning of the digitalization process our lives have been increasely influenced by technology. As human beings, we have been quickly conditioned by these new ways to live and deal with reality becoming soon digital creatures. We are not longer aware of being absorbed in this virtual reality, but we live it getting more and more intimately connected one to another. Some of international digital artists have decided to represent this reality creating the new millennium art using techonology.
“Digital Creatures” is the exhibition set in one of the best underground location in Rome, the Ex Dogana, from April until September which explores the virtual environment that surrounds us. I am not going to tell you WHAT you will see, because everyone must experience it individually and give his/her own interpretation. What I am going to do is telling you WHY you should visit it.
As soon as you get into the exhibition, you suddenly feel to be part of another dimension. Lights down and mystic sounds follow you along the entire route and contribute to create the perfect atmosphere. It seems you jump from Earth to Mars. You sit down on the big soft poufe and just close your eyes. It’s enough to dive yourself into everything is surronding you. It seems wired, but you feel completely comfortable in this space so that every single works of art appears familiar.
Multicolor installations, videomapping, magnetic sculptures, 3D and digital animations invade the space projecting the viewer to a world beyond the ordinary. What it seems based on abstract concepts, it is, instead, the screening of our real life.What are you waiting for? Visit the exhibition and let yourself being involved in a spatial atmosphere.
